The course is a stunning mix of historic mansions, sweeping ocean views and beautiful tree-lined streets of the City by the Sea. The second half of the race takes you past popular Second Beach, Purgatory Rock, the Norman Bird Sanctuary and the quiet back roads in Middletown, RI.

The course is USATF certified and is a Boston Marathon Qualifier.

The Beach Mile

The Beach Mile will start at 11:30 AM, on the beach adjacent to the finish line. It is an out and back on Easton’s Beach, finishing under the Race Arch. As the race is on the beach, please plan for uneven surfaces, beach debris, seaweed, shells, all those wonderful items that we love about the ocean. This will be part of the challenge of completing the course.

Virtual Half Marathon

Please note - The virtual runners will be prohibited from joining us on race day if we are under strict participant caps. This is to ensure that we abide by all local and state guidelines and ensure we live up to the demands and restrictions placed on us as a condition of our race permit.

We have set a low participant cap at this time as we are not sure what the State will have for COVID protocols in April. We may be able to open up more spots once social gathering restrictions are eased, so we would encourage you to sign up for the wait list instead of the virtual race if wish to join us in person as we will pull from the waitlist first. There is no fee to sign up for the waitlist, you are only charged once you accept the bib into the race. You can alway sign up for the Virtual event at a later date as that is unlikely to sell out.
